It's true,  it was a mistake. I set the nic to auto negotiation and I see in
the switch is in Full Duplex.

I read Cisco advisory, but I still want to set the board to Duplex Full
Speed 100 and no autonegotiation,I set (force) the Catalyst
to 100 full duplex, and I see that is right.

Is there any other tool to use with 3c59x instead of vortex-diag? I used to
do a mii-tool, or ethtool with kernel 2.4 but 
Now I need to use kernel 2.6.

before you decide that you really want to force full duplex.  Forcing full
duplex violates the Ethernet standard, and frequently leads to problems.

The chip is set to full duplex.

And you negotiated 100baseTx full duplex.

Autonegotiation seems to be working fine.
You should set the board back to the default configuration: autonegotiation.
